Trey Rollins- Thursday

Today Ryan finished recording guitar tracks and Trey began laying down vocals. I cannot tell you how beautifully this is all coming together…and it hasn’t even been mixed yet. It has been an honor to be a part of this process. I will be heading back to South Carolina tomorrow morning, so those of you who have been trying to contact me over the last couple of days, your calls/emails will be returned tomorrow.
My fav shot of the day.
Trey Rollins- Weird Wednesday

Today got kinda weird….
Today was spent trying to create weird/spacey guitar sounds. It was quite entertaining watching and documenting the entire process. At one point while editing photos I heard what sounded like a Martian Space Explorer cranking up in the garage adjacent to the studio. I immediately alerted the engineer and the MIB and we ended up placing a microphone in the garage which contained a black isolation box for the guitar amp. The combo of the mic on the amp and the mic in the garage was quite delicious.
Here’s a shot of the mic and the black box.

Tuesday Afternoon @ Bill Champlin’s Studio

We went to a different studio this afternoon to record piano and B3 organ tracks.
The studio was at the home of Bill Champlin, lead singer of Chicago. His son played the B3.
Here’s one of their many gold records.
Anyway it was an amazing studio and Trey got some great tracks.
Here’s the visual memoir of the afternoon.
