chasen and needtobreathe concert

I went to see Chasen and Needtobreathe play last night. They were doing a benefit concert for Mauldin High School’s Spirit Week. Safe Harbor, where Sarah works is one of the beneficiaries, so she had to work the show and I tagged along to hang out with Chasen and see the show.
I had the opportunity to photograph Chasen several months ago. They are about to release a new album, and I did all of the photography for the album and tour promo. These guys are wonderful musicians and extremely fun to hang out with, so it was good to see them last night.
I discovered Needtobreathe in the fall when Chasen opened up for them, and I really like their overall sound. Last night’s show, however, was not a true representation of their talent. More technical difficulties than I can count occurred during their set, resulting in a 50 minute set. I felt bad for them; they were stuck on stage while random people scrambled around trying to fix vocal mics and figure out why the keys weren’t making any sound…it was a train wreck.
I did manage to get a few cool shots. Here’s a couple of them.

Stay tuned for more shots of Chasen, both promo and live
I’m Giving You an iPod Touch

So the Wedding Expo went well Saturday. I think I talked to around 200 brides-to-be. Everyone seemed to like my set-up (which was very basic/simple) and they really liked my work that was on display. It is funny to see what different shots people gravitate towards. Most of the time it is not what I consider to be one of my best shots. I tend to be extremely critical of my work, which isn’t always a bad thing, but sometimes I need to hear feedback from complete strangers who do not feel obligated to say good things about my photos.
I “unveiled” some new Wedding options at the show. (I try to refrain from calling them packages; sounds too much like Olan Mills) One of the new things I am extremely excited about is The iPod Digital Photo Album. Basically its an iPod Touch pre-loaded with all of your wedding photos. I’m sure that I’m not the first to offer this, but I think it is really cool and people at the show seemed to dig it.
So if you or someone you know is getting married and wants awesome photos and a new iPod or if you are just looking for an excuse to get married, then I’m your man!
Here’s a copy of a hand card I passed out at the expo.
